The Global WASH Cluster (GWC) and the German WASH Network are excited to announce they will be co-hosting a side-event at the upcoming European Humanitarian Forum 2024 in Brussels, Belgium.

The event will be a platform for the GWC to showcase its commitments and thought leadership as a champion of collective outcomes for the Water Action Decade within and beyond the WASH sector. Collective outcomes are the most effective framework for closer collaboration across humanitarian, development and peace actors, and these set a concrete and measurable result that promotes synergy and complementarity.

The session will spotlight the central role that effective and accountable coordination plays in reducing the impact of crises, to meet life-saving needs and to drive investment for durable and efficient solutions.

Some of the key questions that will be answered during the discussions are:

  • What is “joined-up” action and the collective outcomes?
  • How can humanitarian, development and peace actors more effectively contribute tocollective outcomes for the WASH sector (and beyond)?
  • How can collective outcomes address the underlying drivers of humanitarian crises to achieve more inclusive and equitable impact in fragile contexts and forgotten crises?

Best practices and learning from the complimentary approaches taken by humanitarian, development and peace actors to achieve inclusive and equitable impact will also be shared.

The event will take place on Tuesday 19 March 2024 from 15.45 to 17.00 CET at Flagey Studio 3 in Brussels. Kindly note that registrations for in-person attendance should be done on the registration platform found on the EHF 2024 website.

On the registration platform, please select the date 19 March, and select the session, "Humanitarian Talks: 15:45-17:00: Joined-up action for collective outcomes: accelerating access and coordination for water, sanitation and hygiene in fragile contexts and forgotten crises."

Note that the event will be streamed online on the EHF 2024 website and no registration is required for online attendance.
