The Engineering Institute of the UNAM organized the first two YWP congresses, the first in Mexico City in 2008 and the second in the City of Querétaro in 2010. The third edition
of this event was organized in 2013 by the Instituto Potosino de Scientific and Technological Research (IPICYT) in the City of San Luis Potosí, the fourth edition by the University of Guanajuato in 2015, and the fifth at the San Nicolás de Hidalgo University in Morelia, Michoacán in 2017. Finally, the Engineering Institute of UNAM in collaboration with the YWP Mexico committee organized the 1st Latin American and Caribbean Young Water Professionals Conference in 2018.
Therefore, in our country the Young Water Professional Mexico Conference has been held periodically (every two years), this being one of the most important activities for young water professionals nationwide. The YWP congress is an excellent forum for young researchers and professionals working in the multiple themes of the water sector to present their work, meet their peers, and interact with established researchers, as well as members of the consultative and governmental sector associated with the subject of water, in order to enrich their research and technological developments.
Through this congress, it is intended to provide and listen to the alternatives that young water professionals propose, as well as valuable information about the most relevant andrecent scientific and technological advances in water matters at the national and international level. To achieve this, the presentation of works of high scientific and technological level is carried out that is developed by the most active participants in the water sector, such as higher education institutions, public and private research centers, social organizations, agencies operators of water supply and disposal services, as well as government agencies at the municipal, state or federal level.
