The 2022 edition of the United Nations World Water Development Report, titled “Groundwater: Making the invisible visible”, has been published by UNESCO. It highlights the potential of groundwater as being central to the fight against poverty, to food and water security, to the creation of decent jobs, to socio-economic development, and to the resilience of societies and economies to climate change. It is the UN-Water’s flagship report on water and sanitation issues.
