The Cluster Advocacy and Support Team (CAST)

The Cluster Advocacy and Support Team was established to carry out the responsibilities of the Cluster Lead Agency, and is tasked with the day-to-day running and leadership of the Global WASH Cluster. Based within UNICEF’s Global Cluster Coordination Unit in Geneva, CAST represents the Global WASH Cluster to the Cluster Lead Agency and external stakeholders, ensuring strong communications and representation. They provide the link between the Inter-Agency Standing Committee and other external bodies and events that impact on the Global WASH Cluster.

In addition, the team engages with donors, provides support to and advocates on behalf of members, captures lessons learned and best practices, and implements knowledge management functions. CAST monitor, and provide support, oversight and quality assurance on cluster affairs as appropriate to global humanitarian hot spots, including direct links with national WASH cluster fora.
